Identification Features | Colonies are long (~25‒30 cm in height), narrow (<10 cm wide) and sparsely branched, with a slight bottle-brush shape. Main stalk with gold, black or green metallic lustre. With conspicuous whitish polyps that are large compared to the size of the branches that support them. This morphotype could belong to Chrysogorgia fewkesii Verrill, 1883 that is reported from Bermuda, however, positive assignment to this species would require microscopic examination. |
