Identification Features | Colonies are typically tall (>1 m), uniplanar, with dichotomous (usually earlier branches) and/or pinnate branching. Colour light brown to orange. Two species have been previously reported from Bermuda, Callogorgia gracilis (Milne Edwards & Haime, 1857) and C. verticillata (Pallas, 1766), however, species identification requires microscopic examination. Typically, with multiple ophiuroid commensals. |
